Jian Ming Shu, the daughter of the Jian family, survives a family massacre after accidentally falling off a cliff and losing her memory. While heading to the capital for the imperial examinations, Lu Chang coincidently rescues his amnesiac childhood friend from distress. After learning of her family's tragedy and their connection to his mentor's injustice case, he decides to protect her under the guise of being her family. As Ming Shu investigates her mysterious origins, she faces challenges with Lu Chang by her side. Through shared trials, their bond deepens to the point where Lu Chang can no longer deny his feelings for the girl he once cruelly rejected. But when Ming Shu's memory returns, can she forgive the man who once broke her heart?
